I am delighted to be re-elected as the Chairman of the Electronics Division (END) for Session 2025/2026. I would like to express my gratitude to all Past Chairmen, Committee Members, Observers, and helpers for their contributions. Having served as the Chairman in the last session, I believe that END will continue providing up-to-date activities to serve our fellow members, to uplift their electronic and communication engineering knowledge to face the future needs.

In this session, besides organizing our signature and flagship events, e.g. the Hong Kong Electronics Symposium which received excellent response in May 2025, and our highly anticipated Annual Dinner which was held in Jun 2025, the well-received Hong Kong Electronics Project Competition will be held for the Industry and Tertiary Institutions in Mar 2026. These events provide our members, industry practitioners and students with valuable opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and connecting with experts in the electronics, communications, and related engineering industries.

To echo with the new President’s Presidential Theme, “Together we RISE”, to embrace a multidisciplinary perspective, foster empowerment, and nurture collaborative efforts, appropriate activities in collaboration with other Divisions and/or local/overseas engineering institutions will be organised.

To continue the collaboration based on the MOU signed in Jun 2024 between our Division and GuangDong Institute of Electronics, activities with China elements will be one of our main key focuses, e.g. professional qualification certification for Hong Kong and Macao engineering professionals in the Greater Bay Area.

 “Nurturing the Youth” is a key factor that contributes to the sustainable development of Society. A STEM Electronics Bootcamp with the theme “AI Application in Engineering” will be held in Aug 2025, which aims to ignite young people’s interest and innovation in AI, electronics engineering, and encourage them to join the engineering industries in the future.

END will keep up the momentum to organise high-value activities, with the mission of promoting excellence and professionalism in the field of electronics, communications, and related engineering, especially engineering standards and AI in the sustainable development of Smart City.
