Hong Kong Electronics Project Competition 2016 (HKEPC2016)
Organized by: HKIE Electronics Division
About the Event
Internet of Things (IoT) brings people, processes, data and things via the evolving virtual space into a newer and more promising dimension. It allows us to use technology to enhance our comfort, improve our energy efficiency, simplify the tasks that consume our home and work life and give us greater control over our lives.
As a professional and learned society, HKIE Electronics Division is going to organize a project competition to promote the benefit of this evolving technology. The aim is to increase the awareness and knowledge of the Hong Kong people so that we can effectively make use of the IoT technology to improve the quality of life and as a result to achieve the Smart City initiative as proposed by our Chief Executive in his Policy Address 2015. Some prominent applications are Smart Energy, Smart Transportation, Smart Healthcare, etc.
The participants are required to design, build and test an electronic product/system by applying “IoT technologies” to achieve the Smart City initiative. Briefing session will be provided and a list of professional advisors is available for consultation.
The competition will be divided into 3 phases:
Phase 1 – Design Proposal
Phase 2 – Functionality Evaluation
Phase 3 – Final Demonstration
