Notice of The 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Electronics Division
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 38th Annual General Meeting of the Electronics Division will be held on Friday, 21 April 2017 at 6:30pm at James Chiu & Dragages Rooms, the HKIE Headquarters, 9/F Island Beverley, No 1 Great George Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, for the following purposes:-
1. To receive and confirm the Minutes of the 37th AGM.
2. To receive and adopt the Annual Report of the Division for Session 2016/2017.
3. To receive and adopt the Financial Statement of the Division for Session 2016/2017.
4. To elect the Chairman and Ordinary Members of the Division Committee for Session 2017/2018.
In case of adjournment of the AGM, members of the Division shall check on the Institution’s website at http://www.hkie.org.hk and the Division’s website at http://en.hkie.org.hk of the revised venue, time and date for the adjourned AGM.
Following the AGM, we have the pleasure to have Ir Dr Henry LAU, Associate Professor, Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering, University of Hong Kong, to deliver a technical seminar on the Power of Virtual Reality (VR) in Modern Engineering. In this seminar, Ir Dr Henry LAU will introduce the latest development in VR, especially on CAVE-based systems. The application and future trend will also be discussed. The seminar is jointly organised by Electronics Division and Information Technology Division.

Nominations for Division Chairman and Ordinary Members
Division Chairman
The outgoing Division Committee has decided to nominate Ir Wilson KWOK Wai Shun for election as the Chairman for Session 2017/2018.
No other nomination has been received from members by the nomination deadline.
Ordinary Members - under Clause 7.2(c) of the Division Rules
The outgoing Division Committee has decided to opt for the maximum of 14 Ordinary Members, and seven Ordinary Members in the Committee shall retire by end of the Session, namely Ir Peter YEUNG Tin Chung, Ir Macbeth LAW Cheuk Hung, Ir Dr Peter WONG Hon Wah, Miss Monica LEUNG Sze Man, Ir Johnny POON Chung Yin, Mr Patrick DONG Shi Ki and Ir Raymond POON Kwok Ying.
Following the retirement of the above Ordinary Members, there are seven vacancies for the Ordinary Members.
The Division Committee has decided to nominate the following seven candidates for the Ordinary Members for a three-year term: Ir Peter YEUNG Tin Chung, Ir Macbeth LAW Cheuk Hung, Ir Dr Peter WONG Hon Wah, Miss Monica LEUNG Sze Man, Ir David YAM Chi Yeung, Mr Larry YUEN Ka Hing and Miss Fanny YEUNG Hiu Fan.
No other nomination has been received from members by the nomination deadline.
